For more than 58 years, Betty's Fireworks has been helping families celebrate the Fourth of July the way it should be celebrated—with family, friends, and fireworks.

Our story began in the late 1960s when Betty Mead started selling bottle rockets and firecrackers beside the farm where she grew up, just nine miles north of Milbank, South Dakota. What began as a small roadside fireworks stand soon became a destination. Families from across South Dakota, Minnesota, and beyond made Betty's part of their annual Fourth of July tradition.

But Betty's Fireworks was always about more than fireworks.

Customers came for the friendly conversation. They came for the familiar faces. They came for the fresh-baked cookies Betty handed out with a smile. Over the years, countless families made the trip to Betty's together, creating memories that lasted long after the fireworks faded from the night sky.

Today, many of those same families still return every summer. Grandparents who once stood at the counter as children now bring their own children and grandchildren to the same stand. What started as a simple fireworks business has become a tradition shared across four generations.

While the world has changed since Betty sold her first bottle rocket, the values that built Betty's Fireworks have remained the same: treating customers like family, offering quality products at fair prices, and helping create unforgettable Fourth of July memories.

Today, Betty's Fireworks is proudly operated by Betty's grandsons, Ben and Isaiah, who grew up working alongside their grandmother and learning firsthand what made Betty's special. They are committed to preserving the tradition she started while continuing to serve the families who have supported Betty's Fireworks for generations.
